Lea Crescent, Ruislip

This project involved the removal of a wall under the stair to allow a much more open space. The wall supported a system of stub-posts and joists which in turn supported the half landing of the stair.

Despite the presence of timber trimmer beams around the stair, these were checked and did not have the structural capacity to carry the extra load from the stair - therefore steel beams were used to carry the loads back to the masonry walls.
